Job Description
Coral Coast Publishing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Editor in Chief (Assistant) to join our vibrant team in Darwin. This pivotal role will support the Editor in Chief in overseeing all editorial processes from manuscript acquisition to final publication across our diverse list. You will play a crucial part in shaping our publications, ensuring high quality, consistency, and alignment with our publishing vision. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Editor in Chief in managing the editorial calendar and publication schedule.
- Evaluate manuscript submissions, providing constructive feedback and recommendations.
- Coordinate with authors, editors, designers, and marketing teams to ensure smooth project flow.
- Proofread and copyedit manuscripts for grammar, style, accuracy, and adherence to house style guides.
- Conduct research to support editorial decisions and market analysis.
- Participate in editorial meetings, contributing ideas for new acquisitions and strategic direction.
- Maintain open communication with authors throughout the publishing process.
- Help ensure all publications meet legal and ethical standards.
- Support the Editor in Chief with administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability in editing, proofreading, and copyediting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

- Demonstrated understanding of editorial processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
