Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Part-time Boarding Kennel Hand to join our dedicated team at Isa Pet Resort. This role involves providing daily care, supervision, and enrichment for dogs and cats staying at our facility during day shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Feed and water boarding animals according to schedules and dietary requirements.
- Clean and sanitise kennels, catteries, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Supervise playtimes and exercise sessions, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pets.
- Administer medications as directed by senior staff, accurately recording dosages.
- Monitor animal behaviour and health, reporting any concerns or changes to management.
- Provide basic grooming such as brushing and bathing as needed.
- Engage with animals in a positive and compassionate manner.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and daily activities.
- Assist with customer check-ins and check-outs, providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure the facility is secure and all animals are accounted for at the end of each shift.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for animals.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures meticulously.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with various breeds and sizes of dogs and cats.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting (e.g., vet clinic, animal shelter, pet sitting).
- Certificate II or III in Animal Studies or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of animal first aid.
- Valid driver's license.
