Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Election Office Clerk for a seasonal contract position. This is an immediate hire opportunity to support the upcoming municipal election period. As an Election Office Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of election activities within the City of Oshawa. This position requires strong administrative skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Election Coordinator and other election staff.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and distribution of election materials.
- Handle incoming inquiries from the public, candidates, and election officials via phone, email, and in-person.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to voter registration and election logistics.
- Process and verify various election forms and applications.
- Assist with setting up and taking down election office equipment and supplies.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
- Adhere strictly to all election laws, policies, and procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
