Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Fitter to join our Power Infrastructure team in Bairnsdale. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems within various power infrastructure projects, including substations, overhead lines, and underground networks. You will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of power supply for our communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical principles, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical plant and equipment in power infrastructure environments.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and fault finding on electrical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant Australian standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and fault reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Participate in an on-call roster for emergency repairs as required.
Required Skills
- Relevant electrical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician).
- Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Fitter in a power infrastructure or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
Preferred Qualifications
- High Voltage (HV) switching authorization or experience.
- Experience with SCADA systems or control wiring.
- First Aid certification.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications.
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) license.
