Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Entomologist / Pest Control Scientist to join our research and development team in Philadelphia. In this critical role, you will apply your expertise in entomology to develop innovative and sustainable pest management solutions. You will be responsible for conducting research, designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new products and strategies. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on global agriculture and environmental health. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute laboratory and field experiments to evaluate the efficacy of novel pest control agents and strategies.
- Identify and classify insect species relevant to agricultural and urban pest management.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret entomological data, preparing detailed scientific reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, agronomists, and regulatory affairs specialists.
- Monitor pest populations and trends, contributing to risk assessments and forecasting.
- Stay abreast of scientific literature, new technologies, and regulatory requirements in entomology and pest management.
- Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and ethical research practices.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Entomology, Biology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in insect identification, biology, and ecology.
- Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as needed.
- Familiarity with pest management principles and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the agricultural or pest control industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory processes for pesticide registration.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques in entomology.
- Experience with insect rearing and colony maintenance.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications or significant contributions to scientific projects.
