Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Equestrian Center Event Assistant to join our team for weekend horse shows in Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about equestrian sports to gain hands-on experience in event management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our events, providing support to event organizers, competitors, and attendees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arena preparation, signage, and equipment placement.
  • Provide general assistance to competitors, including direction, answering queries, and registration support.
  • Help manage spectator areas and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Support judges and stewards as needed during competitions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as checking in participants and managing waivers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event areas throughout the day.
  • Be a helpful and friendly point of contact for all event attendees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure successful event execution.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in events, customer service, or a similar support role.
  • Familiarity with equestrian terminology or horse show environments.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability to work most weekends.
