Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Ethical Hacking Consultant to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Glasgow. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying vulnerabilities, simulating real-world cyberattacks, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance our clients’ security postures. You will work on diverse projects across various industries, utilizing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to safeguard digital infrastructures and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive penetration testing on web applications, mobile applications, network infrastructure, and cloud environments.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and provide detailed reports with remediation strategies.
- Simulate real-world attack scenarios to identify weaknesses in security controls.
- Develop custom scripts and tools to automate security testing processes.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements and communicate technical findings effectively.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and ethical hacking techniques.
- Participate in security reviews, architectural assessments, and threat modeling exercises.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the cybersecurity practice.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web technologies.
- Familiarity with common security tools such as Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, and other industry best practices.
- Ability to articulate technical security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GWAPT, GPEN, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud security testing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
- Experience with red teaming or purple teaming exercises.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
