Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Export & International Trade Intern to join our logistics team in Fremantle. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in the complex world of international trade, customs, and logistics operations. You will support our experienced teams in managing export documentation, understanding trade compliance, and optimizing supply chain processes. Full training and mentorship will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to kickstart their career in logistics and global trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of export documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
- Support the team in researching and understanding international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Shadow experienced professionals in managing day-to-day logistics operations for international shipments.
- Help maintain accurate records and databases related to export activities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth trade operations.
- Undertake various administrative tasks to support the logistics department.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in international trade, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of export procedures or customs regulations is a plus, but not required.
- Prior experience in an office environment or customer service role is a benefit.
