Job Description
Join our team as a Federal Supply Depot Worker! Lockheed Martin is seeking dedicated individuals to support critical federal supply chain operations in our San Jose depot. This entry-level position is perfect for those looking to start a career in logistics and warehousing. Full, comprehensive forklift training will be provided to ensure you gain the skills needed to excel in this vital role. You will be responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of a wide range of materials and equipment, playing a direct part in supporting national security initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Perform various warehouse duties including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely after successful completion of training and certification.
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate records using established systems.
- Prepare items for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and loading onto trucks or other transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, federal regulations, and company policies to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient depot operations.
- Assist with other general labor and facility maintenance tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory management tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all assigned duties.
- Willingness to learn new skills, especially forklift operation, and commit to strict safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and obtain any required federal clearances for contract work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or general labor environment (though not mandatory).
- Familiarity with federal supply chain operations or government contracting.
