XPO Logistics in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Forklift Battery Changer. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to learn and grow within a dynamic logistics environment. We provide comprehensive, hands-on training to ensure you gain the skills needed to safely and efficiently manage our forklift battery charging station. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuous operation of our warehouse equipment, ensuring our forklifts are powered and ready for action, directly contributing to our overall operational success. Safety and efficiency are paramount in this role, and we are committed to providing you with the knowledge and tools to excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently remove discharged forklift batteries and replace them with fully charged ones.
- Properly place discharged batteries on charging stations and monitor the charging process.
- Perform routine visual inspections of batteries, chargers, and changing equipment for damage or issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe battery changing area.
- Accurately record battery changes, charge cycles, and any maintenance performed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and forklift operators regarding battery status.
- Assist with general warehouse maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (with mechanical assistance) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting (even if not battery-related).
