Spire Healthcare is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Full-Time Hospital Porter in Newmarket. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required, as full comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role. As a vital part of our hospital operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and vital supplies throughout the hospital, directly contributing to a positive patient experience and the effective functioning of our medical teams. This role demands reliability, a caring attitude, and a willingness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, often by wheelchair or bed, between wards, departments, and examination rooms.
- Move medical equipment, specimens, and supplies efficiently and securely throughout the hospital.
- Assist with the delivery and collection of various items, including linen, mail, and waste.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment, reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety, manual handling, and infection control procedures.
- Respond promptly to requests for portering services from various hospital departments.
- Maintain accurate records of movements and deliveries as required.
