This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required, as full comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role. As a vital part of our hospital operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and vital supplies throughout the hospital, directly contributing to a positive patient experience and the effective functioning of our medical teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients, often by wheelchair or bed, between wards, departments, and examination rooms.
  • Move medical equipment, specimens, and supplies efficiently and securely throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with the delivery and collection of various items, including linen, mail, and waste.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment, reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety, manual handling, and infection control procedures.
  • Respond promptly to requests for portering services from various hospital departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of movements and deliveries as required.
