Job Description
Are you looking to start a rewarding career in hospitality without needing prior experience? Fairmont Chateau Whistler is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Hotel Housekeepers / Room Attendants. We believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training to ensure your success. This entry-level position is perfect for those who are meticulous, physically active, and possess a strong desire to contribute to an exceptional guest experience. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition and luxurious atmosphere of our guest rooms and public areas, ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable and immaculate stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and floors
- Change linens, make beds, and replenish amenities according to hotel standards
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items promptly
- Handle guest requests and inquiries in a friendly and efficient manner
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team and other hotel departments
Required Skills
- No prior housekeeping or hotel experience required – full training will be provided
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Reliable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic communication skills in English
- Familiarity with safety procedures and cleaning products (training provided)
