Job Description
Waste Management Canada is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as an Industrial Cleaner for the night shift. This is an entry-level position offering premium pay and full, comprehensive training – no prior experience is required! If you are a motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, we encourage you to apply. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our industrial facilities adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness and operational safety during off-peak hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and sanitization duties in industrial facilities, including floors, machinery, and common areas.
- Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, power washers, and vacuum cleaners (training provided).
- Empty and clean waste receptacles; properly dispose of waste according to company and environmental guidelines.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, and office spaces.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand safety instructions and company policies.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Must be able to work the designated night shift schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe handling.
- Previous experience working in an industrial or warehouse environment (not required, but an asset).
- First Aid/CPR certification (an asset).
