Job Description

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented student passionate about environmental health and safety? Intel Corporation is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Intern to join our Factory Compliance team in San Jose, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment within a high-tech manufacturing setting. You will assist our experienced Industrial Hygiene professionals in monitoring, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards, contributing directly to our comprehensive compliance programs and employee well-being initiatives. This role offers exposure to real-world industrial hygiene challenges and practices in a leading global technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting industrial hygiene surveys and assessments for chemical, physical, and biological hazards in manufacturing and laboratory environments.
  • Collect and analyze data related to air quality, noise levels, and exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Support the development and implementation of exposure control strategies and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Help prepare reports and documentation for industrial hygiene monitoring activities.
  • Participate in EHS team meetings and learn about broader safety management systems.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Public Health, or a related scientific/engineering field.
  • Basic understanding of industrial hygiene principles and concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous academic or project experience related to EHS or industrial hygiene.
  • Familiarity with relevant EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, Cal/OSHA).
  • Experience with data collection and basic statistical analysis.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
