Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to manage and optimize our critical IT infrastructure systems in our Fremantle operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our network, servers, and data centers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team of infrastructure specialists, contributing to strategic planning and project execution within a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects aligned with business objectives.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee the security, backup, and redundancy strategies for all critical IT systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements and solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventative measures to minimize recurrence.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement of IT infrastructure components and services.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and budget management for IT infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure systems and processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 6 years) as an IT Infrastructure Lead or a similar senior technical role.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and Firewalls.
- Expertise in server operating systems, specifically Windows Server (2016+) and Linux distributions.
- Extensive experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services).
- Strong knowledge of storage solutions including SAN, NAS, and backup/recovery methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interdepartmental communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with ITIL framework and service management best practices.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Experience working within a large enterprise environment, particularly in the mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
