Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team in Werribee. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers with all stages of the litigation process, from inception to resolution.
- Draft and prepare various legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, and court forms.
- Conduct legal research using various databases and resources.
- Manage and organise case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates.
- Liaise with clients, barristers, courts, and other external parties.
- Prepare briefs to counsel and manage discovery processes.
- Provide administrative support to the litigation team as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a Paralegal in a litigation environment.
- Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology, particularly in litigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma of Legal Services or a relevant tertiary qualification in law.
- Experience with legal practice management software (e.g., Leap, Actionstep).
- Demonstrated interest in social justice and client advocacy.
