Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Media Monitor to join our Government sector team in Jacksonville. This role involves comprehensive monitoring, tracking, and analysis of media coverage relevant to government initiatives, policies, and public perception. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources into actionable insights. You will play a crucial role in providing timely information to our clients, helping them understand public sentiment and media trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily monitoring of traditional and digital media (news, social media, forums, blogs) for relevant government-related content.
- Identify, track, and report on key themes, narratives, and emerging issues impacting government clients.
- Prepare concise and insightful daily, weekly, and ad-hoc media summary reports.
- Utilize media monitoring tools and platforms effectively to capture comprehensive data.
- Analyze media coverage for sentiment, reach, and influence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
- Support crisis communications efforts by monitoring sensitive topics and providing rapid alerts.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of media contacts and coverage trends.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using media monitoring and analytics platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Brandwatch).
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable reports.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Relations, or a related field.
