Job Description
Join Quest Diagnostics as a Medical Sample Courier and play a vital role in healthcare by ensuring the safe and timely transport of medical samples. We provide a company vehicle, covering fuel and maintenance, allowing you to focus on your critical work. This is an on-site, full-time position requiring a clean driving record and a commitment to meticulous sample handling. You will be a crucial link between our collection sites and laboratories, contributing directly to patient care and diagnostic accuracy. No prior medical courier experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and clean record.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical samples, specimens, and other materials between various Quest Diagnostics locations, hospitals, clinics, and client sites.
- Operate a company-provided vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain strict adherence to specimen integrity and handling protocols, including temperature control and proper documentation.
- Complete daily routes and schedules as assigned, ensuring timely pick-ups and deliveries.
- Accurately document all activities, including pick-up/delivery times, mileage, and any issues encountered.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, representing Quest Diagnostics positively.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and client personnel.
- Handle all materials with confidentiality and respect for patient privacy.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Customer service-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare logistics.
- Previous experience in a route-based or delivery driving role.
