Job Description
Northcott is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate NDIS Plan Manager with a strong financial focus to join our Newcastle team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing expert financial management and administrative support to NDIS participants, ensuring their plans are effectively managed, budgets are maximised, and services are accurately billed. You will work closely with participants, their families, and service providers to uphold the integrity and efficiency of NDIS funding, helping individuals achieve their goals and exercise choice and control over their support. This position requires a meticulous approach to financial record-keeping, a deep understanding of NDIS guidelines, and excellent communication skills to navigate complex situations with empathy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage NDIS participant plans, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with NDIS rules.
- Process invoices and track expenditures against participant budgets.
- Provide clear and accessible financial statements and reports to participants.
- Assist participants in understanding their NDIS plan budget and how to best utilise their funds.
- Liaise with NDIS participants, their families, and service providers to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve financial queries.
- Maintain accurate and confidential participant records and financial documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in NDIS policies and guidelines.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues related to plan management.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration, accounting, or NDIS plan management.
- Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its operational guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to person-centred support.
Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Community Services, or a related field.
- Previous experience working directly within the NDIS framework as a Plan Manager or Support Coordinator.
- Experience with client management systems (CRM).
