Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Shift Care Assistant to join our team in Richmond, BC. In this vital role, you will provide essential support and care to our residents during the quieter overnight hours. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a calm environment, possess a keen eye for detail, and are committed to ensuring the comfort and safety of our seniors through the night. While previous experience in a care setting is beneficial, we welcome candidates with a genuine desire to learn and provide empathetic care, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the peaceful and secure atmosphere our residents cherish, with a premium hourly rate reflecting the importance of this shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during night shifts, respecting resident privacy and dignity.
- Conduct regular wellness checks and respond promptly to resident calls and needs.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper equipment and techniques.
- Monitor resident health status, document observations accurately, and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents.
- Administer medication reminders as per established protocols.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties and ensure common areas are tidy.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, ensuring residents feel secure and comfortable throughout the night.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills

- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shift schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

- Completion of a recognized Care Aide program or equivalent.
- Familiarity with record-keeping and basic computer skills.
