Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional for a non-ongoing government contract position based in Launceston. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical public sector initiatives within Tasmania. The successful candidate will work on projects focused on policy implementation, data analysis, and project coordination, providing expert support and delivering tangible outcomes. This contract is designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are capable of quickly integrating into project teams to drive results. The ‘non-ongoing’ nature means it is for a fixed term, providing flexibility and exposure to diverse government projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support on specific government projects.
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government officials.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and associated documentation.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues within project scope.
- Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and project updates.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in project management or coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Understanding of government processes and public sector environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Public Policy, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience working on government contracts in Australia.
- Experience with data analysis tools or project management software.
- Hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
