Job Description
Shopify is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Online Community Greeter to join our growing team. This is an entry-level, fully remote position designed for individuals passionate about creating welcoming online spaces. As an Online Community Greeter, you will be the first point of contact for new members joining our various online platforms, including dedicated forums and Discord servers. Your primary goal will be to ensure new users feel valued, supported, and quickly integrated into our vibrant community. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome all new members across designated forums and Discord channels.
- Proactively engage with new users, answering initial questions and guiding them to relevant resources.
- Introduce new members to community guidelines and best practices in a helpful and approachable manner.
- Monitor community channels for new introductions and provide timely, personalized greetings.
- Identify common questions or concerns among new members and report trends to the community management team.
- Assist in fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all community members.
- Collaborate with the broader community team to enhance the new member onboarding experience.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written communication skills with a friendly and empathetic tone.
- Basic familiarity with online forums and chat platforms like Discord.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to community engagement.
- No prior professional experience required; we welcome enthusiastic newcomers!
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
