Job Description
Join our dedicated team in Bundaberg as a Palliative Care Support worker. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide compassionate and essential support to individuals and their families navigating the challenges of palliative care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and comfort to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and report changes in client condition or well-being to the nursing team.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
- Document observations and care provided accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and relevant health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Australian driver's license and access to reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services.
- Previous experience in palliative care, aged care, or home care settings.
- Knowledge of grief and bereavement support principles.
- Experience with diverse client needs and cultural backgrounds.
