Job Description

Join our dedicated team in Bundaberg as a Palliative Care Support worker. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide compassionate and essential support to individuals and their families navigating the challenges of palliative care. You will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, working within a supportive environment and a competitive roster that prioritises work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and comfort to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition or well-being to the nursing team.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
  • Document observations and care provided accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and relevant health and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Australian driver's license and access to reliable transport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services.
  • Previous experience in palliative care, aged care, or home care settings.
  • Knowledge of grief and bereavement support principles.
  • Experience with diverse client needs and cultural backgrounds.
