Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically fit individuals to join our team as Paper Mill Labourers in Geelong. This is an excellent opportunity to secure stable, full-time employment with high earning potential within a critical industry. As a Labourer, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our paper manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth production and efficient material handling. Full training will be provided to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in this role, making it suitable for motivated individuals eager to learn and grow in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation and monitoring of paper mill machinery and equipment under supervision.
- Load and unload raw materials, finished products, and waste materials using various methods.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning work areas, machinery, and equipment to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in quality control checks and report any deviations or issues to supervisors.
- Support maintenance teams with basic tasks as required.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and team leaders to ensure production targets are met.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and complete simple reports.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (even if not paper-related).
- Current forklift license (LF Class).
- Basic understanding of machinery operation or mechanical aptitude.
- First Aid certification.
