Job Description
Embark on an exciting journey with Georgiou Group as a Vacation Intern, supporting our dynamic Civil Engineering Projects team in Fremantle. This hands-on internship is designed for students currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree who are eager to gain practical, real-world experience during their academic break. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to various stages of our projects, from planning and design support to on-site observations and data collection. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to learn and contribute to significant infrastructure developments in Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project engineers with daily tasks, including data analysis, report preparation, and design support.
- Conduct site visits with project teams to observe construction progress and engineering challenges.
- Help in maintaining project documentation, records, and compliance checks.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for project solutions and improvements.
- Support quality assurance and control activities on various project sites.
- Collect and organize field data, measurements, and progress photos.
- Learn and apply company safety procedures and protocols diligently.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong academic record with a genuine interest in civil construction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of relevant civil engineering coursework (e.g., structural analysis, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering).
- Prior volunteer experience or involvement in engineering clubs/societies.
- Valid Western Australian 'C' Class driver's license.
