Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Pet Boarding Night Attendant to join our team for a quiet overnight shift. This role is crucial for ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of all animals in our care during the night hours. The primary focus will be on monitoring the boarding areas, responding to animal needs, and maintaining a clean and secure environment. This position offers a serene work setting for individuals who thrive in independent roles and have a genuine love for animals. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular rounds throughout the boarding facility to monitor animal behavior and well-being.
- Ensure all animals have fresh water and comfortable bedding.
- Administer late-night or early-morning medications as per schedule (with training).
- Clean and sanitize kennels, common areas, and pet relief stations.
- Respond calmly and effectively to any animal disturbances or emergencies, alerting management as necessary.
- Document observations, incidents, and animal statuses accurately.
- Perform light administrative tasks, such as preparing feeding schedules for the morning shift.
- Maintain a quiet and peaceful environment to ensure restful sleep for all boarding pets.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for animals.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and resourceful in unexpected situations.
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Comfortable working in a quiet, overnight environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care (volunteer or paid) is a plus.
- Certification in pet first aid or CPR is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
