Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Prosthetics Manufacturing Assistant to join our workshop team in Chatham, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn about the intricate process of manufacturing prosthetic components. No prior experience in prosthetics manufacturing is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a vital role in supporting our experienced technicians and engineers, ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of devices that enhance our users’ mobility and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production, assembly, and finishing of various prosthetic components and devices.
  • Operate and maintain a range of workshop machinery and hand tools under supervision, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Perform initial quality checks on materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet our rigorous standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment at all times.
  • Accurately prepare materials for manufacturing processes, including cutting, shaping, and measuring.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and quality control procedures and regulations.
  • Support senior technicians and engineers with various tasks as required, demonstrating a proactive and helpful attitude.
  • Document manufacturing steps and contribute to inventory management as needed.

  • Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for precision work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in any manufacturing, workshop, or technical assembly setting.
  • Familiarity with basic workshop tools and machinery.
  • A keen interest in medical devices, engineering, or the prosthetics industry.
  • Completion of an NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related vocational field.
