Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Prosthetics Manufacturing Assistant to join our workshop team in Chatham, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn about the intricate process of manufacturing prosthetic components. No prior experience in prosthetics manufacturing is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a vital role in supporting our experienced technicians and engineers, ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of devices that enhance our users’ mobility and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production, assembly, and finishing of various prosthetic components and devices.
- Operate and maintain a range of workshop machinery and hand tools under supervision, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform initial quality checks on materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet our rigorous standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment at all times.
- Accurately prepare materials for manufacturing processes, including cutting, shaping, and measuring.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and quality control procedures and regulations.
- Support senior technicians and engineers with various tasks as required, demonstrating a proactive and helpful attitude.
- Document manufacturing steps and contribute to inventory management as needed.

- Completion of an NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related vocational field.
