Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantitative Developer to join our team in Truro. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining quantitative models and tools that support our trading, risk management, and analytics functions. You will work closely with quantitative analysts, traders, and IT professionals to translate complex financial concepts into robust and efficient software solutions. This position requires a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, programming, and an understanding of financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quantitative models for pricing, risk management, and portfolio optimization.
  • Translate mathematical specifications and quantitative methodologies into high-quality, production-grade code.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts to understand model requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Design and implement data processing pipelines and analytical tools to support quantitative research.
  • Ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of developed quantitative systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain high standards of software quality.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for quantitative applications.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and quantitative methods.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for quantitative development.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and quantitative finance concepts.
  • Solid background in mathematics, statistics, and numerical methods.
  • Experience with data analysis libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas) and scientific computing.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with risk management systems or trading platforms.
