Job Description

Are you passionate about the environment and looking for a hands-on role with a purpose? Cleanaway Waste Management in Port Pirie is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Recycling Plant Hands. No prior experience is required, as full comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this vital environmental role. You will play a crucial part in the sorting, processing, and management of recyclable materials, contributing directly to a cleaner, more sustainable Port Pirie and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the sorting and segregation of various recyclable materials (plastics, paper, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt or designated areas.
  • Operate and monitor plant machinery and equipment safely after receiving full training.
  • Perform general labouring tasks, including cleaning work areas and maintaining plant tidiness.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily operational targets.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Australian C-class driver's license (or equivalent) and reliable transport.
