Job Description
Are you passionate about public health and environmental protection? Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training programme covering all aspects of environmental health
- Accompany qualified inspectors on visits to various premises, including food businesses, private housing, and industrial sites
- Assist with investigations into complaints related to public health, nuisance, and pollution
- Learn to prepare reports, maintain records, and communicate findings effectively
- Undertake research and data collection to support environmental health initiatives
- Develop an understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Engage with residents and businesses, providing advice and guidance under supervision
- Contribute to promotional activities aimed at improving public health awareness
Required Skills
- A degree-level qualification in a science-related discipline or equivalent experience, demonstrating an aptitude for scientific principles and problem-solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and observational abilities
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude with a genuine interest in environmental health
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous customer service experience
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or willingness to obtain one)
