Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Recycling Plant Quality Sorter in Barrie, Ontario. This is an immediate hire opportunity for motivated candidates who are ready to make a tangible difference in environmental sustainability. As a Quality Sorter, you will be a vital part of our recycling process, ensuring that materials are correctly separated and processed. Full training will be provided, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is supplied to guarantee your safety in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort recyclable materials, such as paper, plastics, and metals, on a moving conveyor belt.
- Identify and remove non-recyclable items and contaminants from the material stream.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and surrounding plant area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing provided PPE at all times.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
- Assist with general plant upkeep and other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying different material types and contaminants.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or industrial setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of various recyclable materials and their sorting categories.
- Comfortable working in a dusty or noisy environment (with appropriate PPE).
