Job Description

You will contribute to projects that leverage satellite imagery for environmental monitoring, urban planning, resource management, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing and analysis of satellite imagery and other remote sensing data under direct supervision.
  • Support senior analysts in data acquisition, pre-processing, and quality control tasks.
  • Utilize GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro) and remote sensing tools to extract meaningful information from geospatial datasets.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of workflows for remote sensing data processing.
  • Participate in team meetings and present findings or progress on assigned tasks.
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on emerging remote sensing technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Required Skills

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Geography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of GIS principles and concepts.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing principles and satellite imagery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior academic project experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Basic experience with scripting languages such as Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Exposure to image processing software (e.g., ENVI, ERDAS Imagine) in an academic setting.
  • Understanding of various satellite sensors and their applications.
