Job Description
We are seeking a talented and creative Remote Video Editor to join our dynamic content team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for storytelling through video, with a particular focus on crafting engaging and high-quality content for YouTube and TikTok. You will be instrumental in transforming raw footage into polished, shareable videos that capture attention, drive engagement, and align with our brand’s voice. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of current social media trends, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw video footage into compelling, high-quality content for YouTube and TikTok platforms.
- Develop and implement creative video concepts that align with our content strategy and brand guidelines.
- Incorporate motion graphics, special effects, music, and sound effects to enhance video production.
- Ensure all videos are optimized for respective platforms (aspect ratios, subtitles, intros/outros).
- Collaborate with content strategists, marketers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver on vision.
- Manage and organize video assets efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing software, trends, and social media best practices.
- Provide creative input and suggestions during the content development process.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro).
- Demonstrable experience creating engaging content for YouTube and TikTok.
- Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and compression techniques.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
- Excellent sense of pacing, timing, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A portfolio showcasing diverse video editing projects for social media.
- Experience with colour correction and audio mixing.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
- Understanding of SEO principles for YouTube content.
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Marketing, or a related field.
