Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Repossession Agency Dispatcher to join our night shift team. This is a critical role responsible for coordinating field agents, managing client requests, and ensuring the smooth operation of our repossession activities during overnight hours. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and can make swift, informed decisions under pressure. You will be the central hub of our night operations, requiring vigilance and a proactive approach. Comprehensive training will be provided to familiarize you with industry-specific software and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process repossession assignments from various clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Dispatch field agents efficiently to target locations, optimizing routes and agent workload.
- Monitor agent progress and locations using GPS and communication systems, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain constant communication with field agents, providing support, updates, and instructions as needed.
- Log all dispatch activities, communications, and incidents accurately in our internal systems.
- Handle incoming calls from clients, agents, and third parties, providing clear and concise information.
- Address and resolve operational issues or emergencies that may arise during the night shift with professionalism and calm.
- Prepare end-of-shift reports summarizing night operations and significant events.
- Liaise with law enforcement and other relevant parties as necessary, following established protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new dispatch and GPS software
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially during critical incidents
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to working scheduled night shifts
- Basic knowledge of the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area geography
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a dispatching role (e.g., logistics, transportation, emergency services)
- Experience within the automotive, financial services, or recovery industries
- Familiarity with local and state regulations pertaining to asset recovery
- Associate's degree or higher
