Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Robotics / Mechatronics Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team in Southgate. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test robotic and mechatronic systems and components.
- Integrate hardware and software for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.
- Develop control algorithms for robotic manipulators and mobile robots.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and validation of new concepts.
- Perform system-level simulations and analysis to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and mechanical engineers.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Document designs, test procedures, and results in accordance with company standards.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in robotics and mechatronics.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Strong understanding of control systems and kinematic/dynamic analysis.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, and industrial automation components.
- Familiarity with robotic operating systems (ROS) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in robotics or mechatronics development.
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial communication protocols.
- Demonstrated experience with real-time embedded systems.
- Understanding of machine vision systems and applications.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP, Adams).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards for machinery.
