Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive School Admin Manager to join a vibrant school within the NSW Department of Education. This role is crucial for the efficient functioning of the school’s administrative operations, overseeing office staff, managing records, and providing essential support to the Principal and teaching staff. The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the school leadership team, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and fostering a positive and productive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise school administrative and support staff, including performance management and professional development.
- Oversee the daily operations of the school office, ensuring efficient administrative processes.
- Manage school records, databases, and information systems, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare and manage school budgets, financial reports, and procurement processes in line with departmental guidelines.
- Liaise with parents, students, staff, and external stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and information.
- Coordinate school events, excursions, and parent-teacher meetings, ensuring smooth logistical arrangements.
- Implement and maintain school policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with departmental and legislative requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the Principal and teaching staff as required.
- Handle student enrollment processes and associated record-keeping.
- Manage school communication channels, including newsletters, notices, and digital platforms.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative or office management role, preferably within an education setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead administrative staff.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field.
- Experience with NSW Department of Education specific administrative systems (e.g., Sentral, SAP).
- Knowledge of public education policies and procedures in New South Wales.
- First Aid Certificate.
