Job Description
Join Tassal Operations as a Part-time Seafood Sorter at our coastal facility in Kingston, Tasmania. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals seeking stable day-roster work in a dynamic and essential industry. As a Seafood Sorter, you will be integral to ensuring the quality and efficiency of our processing line by accurately inspecting, sorting, and preparing seafood products for further processing or packaging. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those new to the seafood industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect seafood products for quality, size, and defects according to company standards.
- Sort and grade various seafood items on a processing line.
- Remove unwanted materials or damaged products to maintain quality control.
- Handle seafood safely and hygienically, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cool, and wet environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina for standing, lifting (up to 15kg), and repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
