Job Description
Are you looking for a physically engaging role with immediate daily pay? Amazon Fulfillment in Hull is seeking dedicated and reliable Shipping Container Unloaders, often known as ‘Lumpers,’ to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for manually unloading a variety of goods from shipping containers, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently for further processing. This is a demanding but rewarding role for individuals who thrive in a high-energy environment and are committed to maintaining safety and productivity standards. No prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive training!
Key Responsibilities
- Manually unload various products and cartons from shipping containers, ensuring safe handling techniques are always used.
- Sort and stack goods onto pallets according to established procedures and product specifications.
- Work efficiently and safely within a team to meet daily unloading targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Report any damaged goods, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervisory staff immediately.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required to support overall operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Commitment to working safely and following all company safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate product handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physically demanding role (e.g., construction, manual labor) is a plus but not required.
