Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Signage Production Lead to oversee our large format printing and signage production operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing the production workflow from prepress to finishing, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of large format print technologies, and a keen eye for detail. This position requires hands-on involvement in production, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the large format print and signage production department.
- Manage and optimise production schedules to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of large format printers, laminators, and finishing equipment.
- Ensure all output meets specified quality standards and client requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and train production team members.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices in the workshop.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Collaborate with design, sales, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct quality control checks at various stages of production.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in large format printing or signage production.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining large format digital printers (e.g., Roland, HP, Mimaki).
- Strong understanding of various printing materials, substrates, and finishing techniques.
- Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software).
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in graphic arts, print production, or a related field.
- Experience with vehicle wrapping and installation techniques.
- Knowledge of colour management and calibration processes.
- Forklift license.
