Job Description
Are you passionate about sound and eager to start a career in broadcasting or media production? Caledonian Broadcast Group is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sound Engineer (Trainee) to join our dynamic team in Dundee. No prior experience is required for this role; we are looking for individuals with a strong desire to learn, a good ear for sound, and a proactive attitude. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training from experienced professionals, covering all aspects of sound engineering from studio setup and live mixing to post-production and maintenance. This is an entry-level position designed to equip you with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to become a proficient Sound Engineer within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior sound engineers in the setup and breakdown of audio equipment for various productions.
- Shadow and learn from experienced engineers during live broadcasts, studio recordings, and post-production sessions.
- Support with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of audio hardware.
- Participate in training sessions and actively seek to expand knowledge of sound engineering principles and technologies.
- Help manage and organize audio cables, microphones, and other equipment.
- Learn to operate mixing consoles, microphones, and other sound recording devices under supervision.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.
- Perform general administrative duties as required by the production team.
