Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as an Urban Farm Harvest Assistant in Repentigny. This is a hands-on outdoor role, perfect for those who enjoy physical work, early mornings, and being part of a sustainable food system. You will be instrumental in the daily harvesting and packing of fresh produce, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This position requires comfort with working outdoors in various weather conditions and a commitment to early starts to guarantee our produce reaches customers fresh. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a strong work ethic and a passion for fresh, local food!
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily harvesting of various crops according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Assist with the packing and preparation of produce for distribution.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of harvesting areas and equipment.
- Monitor crop health and report any issues to farm management.
- Assist with other farm tasks as needed, including planting, weeding, and general farm maintenance.
- Adhere to all food safety and occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farm, garden, or outdoor labor setting is a plus but not required.
