Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Urban Planning Support Officer to join our dynamic team within the Council Development unit. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about urban development and looking to start a career in local government planning. You will play a crucial role in assisting our planners with the assessment and processing of development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to the efficient delivery of planning services. Full training will be provided to help you develop a comprehensive understanding of planning processes and systems in the ACT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administrative processing of development applications and planning certificates.
  • Maintain and update planning databases and records with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from the public regarding planning processes and application status.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation under supervision.
  • Support senior planners with research, data collection, and analysis for various projects.
  • Assist in organizing and preparing materials for meetings and public consultations.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to departmental standards and legislative requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
