Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Urgent Care Doctor to join our dynamic team in Fremantle for an immediate start. This is a fast-paced environment where you will be instrumental in providing timely and effective medical care to patients presenting with acute, non-life-threatening conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the urgent care clinic.
- Manage a diverse range of acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring prompt and appropriate care.
- Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, fracture management, and foreign body removal.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including pathology and radiology.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, including referrals to specialists or emergency departments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Adhere to all clinical policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Current AHPRA medical registration with no restrictions.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent, or relevant experience in emergency medicine/urgent care.
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate clinical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in minor surgical procedures and emergency medical techniques.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an urgent care centre or emergency department setting.
- Additional qualifications in emergency medicine or general practice.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
