Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and organised individual to join our team as a Veterans Affairs Case Support officer at an APS Level. In this crucial role, you will provide administrative and support services to case managers, assisting in the delivery of essential services to our veteran community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to public service to contribute to a meaningful cause. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Case Managers, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Assist veterans and their families with general inquiries, providing information and guidance on DVA services and entitlements.
  • Liaise with internal DVA teams and external service providers to facilitate timely and effective support for clients.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to DVA policies and procedures regarding client information.
  • Prepare and process various forms and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Demonstrated ability to show empathy and sensitivity when interacting with clients.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role.
  • Understanding of government processes or experience working within a public service environment.
  • A relevant Certificate III or IV qualification in Business Administration or Community Services.
