Job Description

Are you eager to start a career in viticulture and love working outdoors? Moorilla Estate is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Vineyard Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with no prior experience in viticulture, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and productivity of our beautiful vineyards, contributing directly to the quality of our award-winning wines. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with general vineyard tasks including pruning, canopy management, and trellising.
  • Participating in fruit picking during harvest season.
  • Monitoring vine health and identifying any potential issues under supervision.
  • Operating and maintaining vineyard equipment safely after training.
  • Contributing to irrigation management.
  • Undertaking general vineyard maintenance, such as weed control and pest management.
  • Following all health and safety guidelines and company procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor.
  • Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural principles (beneficial but not required).
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
