Job Description
Are you a compassionate communicator with a passion for social justice? Oxfam is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Virtual Charity Fundraisers. This is a vital remote role where you will connect with potential donors over the phone, inspiring them to support our life-changing work. You will be responsible for engaging individuals in meaningful conversations about Oxfam’s impact, securing essential donations that fund our programs, from humanitarian aid to long-term development projects. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the tools and knowledge to succeed, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance their career in the non-profit sector. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to make a difference from the comfort of your own home.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to engage potential donors and existing supporters.
- Articulate Oxfam's mission, values, and current campaigns effectively and persuasively.
- Inspire individuals to make financial contributions to support Oxfam's projects.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and pledges in our CRM system.
- Work collaboratively with the fundraising team to achieve collective targets.
- Adhere to ethical fundraising practices and data protection guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and development sessions.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong listening skills with an empathetic approach.
- Ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- High level of self-motivation and resilience.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use CRM software (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in telemarketing, sales, or customer service.
- An understanding of and passion for Oxfam’s mission and charitable work.
- Experience working with targets or KPIs.
- Familiarity with remote working tools and practices.
