Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Water Department Customer Service Representative. In this essential role, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, assisting with inquiries related to billing, service requests, new accounts, and general information. This position requires excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to navigate various customer service scenarios while adhering to district policies and procedures. Full training on our systems and services will be provided to ensure your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person regarding water services, billing, and account management.
  • Process payments, establish new service accounts, and assist with service disconnection/reconnection requests.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and billing discrepancies efficiently and professionally.
  • Educate customers on water conservation programs, payment options, and district policies.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and detailed logs of interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address customer needs and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support department operations.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience, preferably in a call center or office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle difficult customers and situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a utility company or local government setting.
  • Familiarity with billing software or CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of local geography and community services in Casper, WY.
