Job Description
Cascadia Fresh Produce Co. is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Pineapple Farm Labourer. This essential full-time, outdoor role involves various physical tasks within our agricultural processing and staging areas in Portland. While pineapples are not grown on-site in Portland, this role supports the critical initial stages of processing and preparing incoming pineapple shipments from our tropical partner farms for further distribution. You will be an integral part of ensuring the quality and timely flow of our produce. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience with pineapples or farming is required, just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and contribute to a productive team. This position offers stable weekly pay and an opportunity to work in a vibrant outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform outdoor tasks related to the receiving, sorting, and initial preparation of pineapple shipments.
- Assist with general upkeep and maintenance of outdoor processing and staging areas.
- Operate basic agricultural equipment and tools under supervision (e.g., hand tools, pallet jacks).
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines for handling produce and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in loading and unloading activities as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labour, warehouse, or agricultural settings (though not strictly required).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Fluency in English or Spanish.
