Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and energetic After School Nanny to provide exceptional care for children in the Belconnen area. This part-time position involves afternoon shifts from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be passionate about childcare, capable of creating engaging activities, and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the children. You will be an integral part of their after-school routine, helping with homework, preparing snacks, and facilitating play.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school or a designated meeting point.
- Assist with homework and school projects.
- Prepare healthy after-school snacks.
- Engage children in age-appropriate and stimulating activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Supervise playtime and ensure a safe environment.
- Organise and tidy up children's play areas and belongings.
- Communicate effectively with parents about the children's day and any relevant observations.
- Adhere to family routines and preferences.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, or similar roles).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- A genuine love for children and their development.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging activities.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or a similar qualification.
- Previous experience as an after-school nanny.
- References from previous childcare roles.
