Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Infrastructure Asset Clerk to join our team, supporting vital public sector data initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate tracking, management, and documentation of IT infrastructure assets. Your work will contribute directly to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of critical government data systems. This is an on-site position requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of IT infrastructure assets, including hardware, software licenses, and network components.
  • Perform regular audits and reconciliations of asset inventories against physical stock and system records.
  • Process asset movements, disposals, and new acquisitions, ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and correctly.
  • Assist with the tagging, labelling, and identification of assets according to established standards.
  • Generate reports on asset status, lifecycle, and inventory levels for management review.
  • Liaise with procurement, technical teams, and external vendors regarding asset orders and deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations and internal asset management policies.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of asset management software tools.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and protocols accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or data entry role, preferably within IT or a public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems or inventory control software.
  • Understanding of basic IT hardware and software components.
  • Relevant certification in administration or records management.
